I'm Chris Dumont

a young, 30-something working professional who has a passion for financial literacy. As the Money Sensei, I share my personal experience with overcoming debt and building a retirement nest egg to help you retire while young enough to still enjoy life.

When I graduated with my MBA from the Schulich School of Business, I had $50,000+ in student loans. Even though I majored in finance, I was unprepared for how to navigate the world and be financially secure in life. As it turns out, no classroom provides the knowledge necessary for understanding what’s involved in making sound monetary decisions. So, I focused my efforts on learning everything I could about how to pay down my debt and start saving. Now, I want to share that information with you.

After growing up raised by a single mom with financial challenges, I know what it’s like to want more. I am also a Millennial, so I understand what our generation faces—enormous student debt, lack of economic opportunity, and competitiveness in the job market, just to name a few! Using the same tools that I share, I paid down my debt, own multiple properties, and have a growing nest egg for retirement within four years.

I hope you take away a few ideas from and my book Kicking Financial Ass so that you too can succeed and retire in as few as 10 years. The journey to financial independence is long but well worth it.

Now, get out there and get started!
